Cowboy on a galloping horse- Jules Frazier Fine Art Photographs

The American West

The land. The horses. The people who refuse to let a way of life disappear.

Since 1985, I’ve photographed the American West, from rodeo arenas and cattle drives to ranch country under endless skies, creating an archive of its beauty, glamour and enduring spirit.

 Behind the Photographs

A photographic Journey Through the American West

What began with an unexpected Rodeo Queen title in Sun Valley, Idaho, in 1985 became one of Jules Frazier's most recognized bodies of work. Originally a fashion photographer, she traveled thousands of miles documenting rodeos, ranches, Western personalities, and disappearing Americana. Photographed primarily on film, her work brings an editorial perspective to the people and character of the American West.

I've spent decades behind the lens, drawn to the people, places, and moments that stay with us. My journey through the American West began with a rodeo queen crown and took me places I never imagined. For me, a photograph is more than an image. It's a story, a feeling, and a piece of history worth preserving.
